Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-08-08
Welcome to Vibn. These Terms are the agreement between you and Vibn ("Vibn", "we", "us") for using our apps and website. By creating an account or using Vibn, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Vibn.
1. Who can use Vibn
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use Vibn. If you’re a minor, you may only use Vibn with verifiable consent from a parent or guardian where the law requires it. You’re responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login secure.
2. How Vibn works
Vibn is invite-only. Groups are private, there's no public feed and no discovery, and people join a group only through an invite link, QR code, or code from someone already in it. Everyone in a group can add photos and videos and see what others add.
Media in groups created since our end-to-end encryption rollout is encrypted on your device before upload. The key lives on members' devices and in the invite link; if you keep a recovery backup we also hold a copy sealed under a phrase we never receive, so we still cannot open that media.
A group's owner and its managers control the group's settings: whether members can tag people, whether media can be saved or shared out of the group, whether saves and shares are logged, and whether members other than them can invite new people. Owners and managers can also see a timeline of who joined or left the group and who invited them.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, captions, comments, and messages you add to Vibn. You grant Vibn a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your content for the purpose of operating Vibn — for example, storing your media, delivering it to the members of your groups, generating thumbnails, and, if you opt in, matching faces. This license ends when the content is removed — by you, by the group's owner, or under the storage rule in section 6 — or when you delete your account, except for residual backup copies.
You are responsible for what you upload. Only upload content you have the right to share, and don’t upload photos or videos of other people where doing so would violate their rights or the law.
Media you send may be flagged as sensitive, either by you or by an automatic check that runs on your own device, in which case it appears blurred until a viewer chooses to see it. If the group logs saves and shares, the group's owner and managers can see when you save or share an item.
4. Acceptable use
Keep Vibn a good place. You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, that you don’t have the rights to, or that infringes someone’s intellectual property or privacy.
- Share intimate or identifying images of other people without their consent.
- Harass, threaten, or harm others, or post content that is abusive or hateful.
- Upload malware, or try to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to Vibn.
- Use bots or automated means to abuse invites, accounts, or our website.
- Use Vibn to violate any applicable law.
5. Facial recognition
Facial recognition is optional and off by default. If you enable it, everything that looks at your face runs on your own device: your phone creates a numeric face signature and sends only those numbers to us, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your enrollment photos never leave your device.
Only enable it for yourself, and respect that other members can control their own discoverability and delete their face data at any time.
6. Vibn+ and payments
Vibn is free to start. Vibn+ is an optional subscription that unlocks features such as unlimited groups, higher quality, the reveal gate, and no ads. Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and they renew automatically until you cancel. Manage or cancel your subscription in your store account; refunds are handled by the store under its policies. We validate purchases with Apple or Google, and your plan is set by our servers based on that validation. On the Free plan, Vibn shows ads.
Storage is pooled and charged to the owner of each group. If your Vibn+ subscription ends and the groups you own are over the free storage limit, you keep the Vibn+ storage limit for a further 30 days and we will notify you. If you are still over the limit when those 30 days end, we delete media from the groups you own — oldest first, and regardless of who uploaded it — until they fit within the free limit. Renewing Vibn+ or deleting enough media before the deadline prevents this. Media uploaded by other members of your groups is included; likewise, if you are a member of someone else's group, their subscription status can affect content you added to it.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app’s settings, or request deletion from our website by entering your email — we’ll send a notification to that account so you can confirm the deletion in the app. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the law.
8. Disclaimers
Vibn is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that Vibn will always be available, error-free, or secure. In particular, the blurred “reveal” gate is a shared-surprise feature and not a security guarantee, and the automatic sensitive-content check is best-effort — it will miss things and occasionally flag things it shouldn't. Media in older groups created before end-to-end encryption is stored unencrypted, so please keep that in mind for sensitive content.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Vibn will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of Vibn. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law, including under Brazil’s consumer protection rules.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Vibn evolves. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Vibn after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Brazil, subject to any consumer-protection rights that let you bring a claim where you live.
